Matthew Fishler has followed a range of trails in his life. After earning degrees in philosophy and law, he worked for several years as a lawyer. Over the course of many years, Matthew also traveled extensively in Asia, writing poetry and keeping extensive journals. This work formed the basis of his doctoral dissertation in clinical depth psychology, The Evocative Moment: A Study in Depth Psychological Poetics. This work also produced a number of poems that have been published in a variety of poetry journals. Matthew now works as a depth psychologist, writes poetry, and teaches at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, California.
